“As a woman who believes motherhood is the most important calling she can hear, Katie m. Berggren captures the most beautiful parts of life in her paintings. The color, warmth, expressions of her subjects… There isn’t a doubt in my mind her work will appreciate tremendously as the years pass. Thank you, Katie.” ~ Jenna

Welcome! I invite you to take a second to think about your moments as a mama. The moments between you and your innocent little one: bits of peace & sweetness, smooching, cuddling… yah, those ones.

We become busy rushing from one day to the next ~ it is easy to get stuck in the rush of the daily grind and miss out on connecting with the ones we love most.  Sometimes we lack patience to stop and take a moment to connect instead of rushing through dinner, homework, bath and bedtime.

We want so badly for our children to know that they are always loved, always safe and secure. We wish we could freeze certain moments, because we can already see and anticipate that soon will come the shock that our baby is no longer a ‘baby’.

I create paintings that inspire myself and others to SEE. To realize our blessings and stop in the moments. I long to provide you with beautiful and meaningful moments, captured for generations, that celebrate your love and hard work.

Let me know if you have any questions! Here are some common ones

Katie m. BerggrenI hope that you will see yourself and your own moments in my paintings ~ that you will find images that reflect your life and your gentle choices as a mother.

If you are looking for images that look like photos ~ that look exactly like you, you may not be happy here… however, if you are seeking moments of peace and wholeness, images that convey something beyond a photo likeness: a sense of love, warmth, security and connection, then you are in the right place ~ I invite you to find yourself in these motherhood paintings.

“So very beautiful!! I love the print… and it now has a cherished spot on my bedroom wall, where we can all see it! Thanks so much for doing such amazing work. Truly the best artistic portrayal of motherhood that I’ve ever found.” ~ BBB

“I capture the magnificence of motherhood. I paint intimate moments that are fleeting, creating honest, emotional and stylized artwork that allow mothers to savor and celebrate being a mom.”

As an internationally collected artist, American painter Katie m. Berggren focuses exclusively on painting motherhood and being a mother ~ every day. With a husband and two teenage sons, a busy online store, and commission clients from around the world, she is grateful for her career as an artist and mother. Katie has been cited as the #1 Motherhood Artist in America.

Growing up as youngest in a family of 4 children, Katie relished time & space to explore through writing, drawing and people-watching. Always interested in the dynamic relationships between those around her, she later narrowed that focus to study the intimacies between mothers and their children.

A mostly self-taught painter, Katie’s art career began in high school when she launched a pencil-portrait business.

Graphic design and illustration took her to Central Washington University. After a brief career in graphic design, Katie was drawn to focus exclusively on painting, vowing to paint every day. Katie’s artwork hangs in the homes of families in over 70 countries.

Each day Katie strives to balance simple, loving motherhood with the discipline of business and the craft of painting. The resulting stylized and loving paintings reflect intimate moments of motherhood through gentle, whimsical compositions and soothing tones.

“Capturing and releasing are two reasons I paint – to capture a fleeting moment, and to release an emotion. The process of painting allows me to connect with the world around me. But, perhaps most important, it is the way I model to my children the value of following their dreams and exploring their gifts.

The process of creating and completing a painting provides a satisfying way to hold life at arm’s length – to lay it down for appreciation and contemplation. The finished paintings feel like bits of my soul brushed across canvas or paper. I paint because I must, and it is my desire that another may connect with the images as well.”
