An inquiry from a follower last week planted a seed… The seed sprouted in such a fun and whimsical way… 6 days of time, love and attention in the studio resulted in:
Born In My Heart
This little one’s eyes came to me during a meditation – I designed the painting in my mind and was literally shaking with excitement to get to the studio to create her!
The eyes came to me, perhaps because I
witnessed the birth of my friend’s son the night before, and his innocent
newborn eyes mesmerized me. He gazed upon his mama like he’d known her for
years. And he probably had.
In this painting, the butterfly was a surprise, and the child’s little hand and pointy finger, made me right away think of The Buddha. Which was a treasured turn of events for me. There is a richness I sought with this piece – delicate clarity with just the right amount of sweetness, without being too cutesy. I think I got there. Do you?
This little child is truly tender-hearted, and calls to mind the daughter of one of my long-time collectors. But she also, obviously, developed so sincerely in the heart of her mama ~ nurtured and accepted. Encircled with whimsy, nature and grace.
On Instagram and Facebook Stories, I asked you to help me choose her name: Born In My Heart OR Tender Heart… Born In My Heart was a clear winner, and I’m glad, because that was my first inclination 🙂
I believe ideas and inspiration swirl around us daily. If we allow them to, they will seep into us, leading to exploration, a chance for self-trust, and the urge to create ~ and that creative urge may unfold in a variety of ways…
~~ 2020 Art Calendar Orders Will Ship Late September ~~
Please Note: I know $5 can seem like a big shipping cost for something made of paper… but these suckers are high-quality and heavy. In actuality, I’ll pay $7.80 to ship you your calendar (USA), but I’m only asking that you pay $5 🙂 (USA orders)
Calendars Ship via USPS Priority Mail (even if you choose the flat $5 shipping option, which you should, I’ll pay the extra shipping).
They are too heavy to ship via First Class Mail.
International orders ship via First Class Mail. I’ll pay close to 24 USD to ship your calendar overseas. I think the shop will charge you $22.
If you are in Australia, send me a note, I have a Calendar Retailer in Australia that will allow you to save a lot on shipping 🙂
Let me know if you have any questions!
I hope you have a WONDERFUL week’s end!
Love & Sincerely, Katie
