This year, though, YOU helped me choose the sketch and I chose Pink Lemonade Project as the organization to receive the funds from the sale of this original painting. Kindest Nature was created under the watchful eyes of MANY (thanks for your feedback and support! You can watch a video of the painting process of Kindest Nature, here: www.tinyurl.com/KindestNature) and then she sold very quickly for $1,382, to one of my lovely and loyal collectors. This was not an auction sale, I price my paintings based on their size.

Delivering The Check Painting On Purpose by Katie m. Berggren

I started POP in 2015, inspired by my sweet Grandma Neva who has always been supportive of my work, and flabbergasted that people can make a living creating art – she is an artist too, but she won’t admit it 🙂 I wanted her name and legacy to live on long after she is gone (she just turned 96).

In the last 5 years, Painting On Purpose has allowed me to give $4,251 to five different organizations benefitting mothers and children. 

Pink Lemonade Project is improving lives through healing retreats, mentorship and supportive groups in a safe, welcoming environment. PLP was created to provide critical information and loving support to breast cancer survivors who struggle with the emotional and psychological aspects of diagnosis and recovery. Learn more here.

A Personal Moment…

 

Another note about Dr. Meg Meeker’s book “Strong Mothers, Strong Sons” ~ I’m still slowly absorbing it, and loving it more all the time. I think it could help so many mothers… here are some quotes I’d like to share with you:
