Attacked By An Idea… Or Not ~ 14 Kindred Paintings & Calendars

We are already 14 paintings into the Kindred Collection, I can’t believe it! It’s been such a joy to follow inspiration and create a new original painting to share with you each week.

Sometimes I stare at a blank canvas with NO idea of what I will do – sometimes an idea attacks me quickly and will NOT let go (sometimes when I’m trying to sleep)… I try to stay open and receptive, to trust and to also forgive myself if the idea doesn’t come ’til later.

Please, also, forgive YOURSELF for not getting it ALL done ALL the time 🙂

With custom original paintings in process, I’m always painting, so sometimes the little paintings choose to wait til they see their opening – then they grab my attention!

I’m curious what you think of this small size of paintings ~ do you like the 8×8” size? Does it seem intimate and hold-able to you, like I intend for them to be? I see the value and joy in large pieces, of course – but there is something about these one-of-a-kind, hand-made, touchable and small pieces – they are easy to display, easy to give. With so much texture, color and hidden detail!

Also, 2019 Calendars are due to be in studio in ten days! I’m looking forward to sending them out to all of you who have pre-ordered ~ get YOUR 2019 Motherhood Calendars here. They are gorgeous, premium-sized, and include some extra planning and memory pages this year. But they are the SAME PRICE as last year! I just love them!
