I paint the mother and child on canvas because I ADORE that connection between them. Capturing moments of touch, smooch and sleep… cuddles and skin… because I am in love with them.

I realize that besides feeding my own soul and giving me purpose ~ painting figures folded together, mothers wearing their babes against their breasts, the child enveloped in acceptance and adoration ~ my work also touches the hearts of other mothers. It gives them cause to stop and scoop up their children; to put down the vacuum and pick up a storybook; to stop yelling and look into the little face in front of them.

If one little child per day gets more cuddles and less rejection because a mama understands my paintings and knows she is not alone ~ then I’ve helped out a bit. I will not stop painting.
