Sometimes we run around, barely certain of what the next moment will bring. Responding to this and that… Personally, I begin to feel that I’m not in charge of my own time. Orders come in and I gratefully pack them; supplies run out and I order more; tummies get hungry and I work to fill them; emails come in and I take time to respond. These are all very important activities; however, when they pile up we can feel more “reactive” than “proactive”.

Not feeling “in charge” of our time and activities can lead to resentment.

I recently tried using the mantra “I Am In Charge…”. Such as, “I am in charge of how I spend my time; I am in charge of what I put in my mouth; -what comes out of my mouth, -how I treat my family, -my general attitude… ~ but HOLD ON!

Try focusing on just 1 or 2 things at a time: like being in charge of how long you spend on facebook, or how much sleep you get… I found that this gentle exercise allowed feelings of empowerment to creep across my chest and soothe me.

It’s Thursday ~ so I have a new original painting to share! It is my joy to have a mini painting in process in the studio each week ~ a little emotion, a little gift, a little practice and warm-up. I offer my newest mini original painting each week on Thursday mornings ~ I am also, always, creating larger original paintings to offer in the Online Studio Shop, as well as commissioned paintings for clients (pre-sold).

Today’s painting is titled Mermaid Mama. She is an original painting on a 9×12″ canvas ~ this original painting has SOLD, but you can snag a print of Mermaid Mama, here.
